Detectable B Type punch guide cleaning brush

Our brushes are designed specifically for use on rotary tablet presses in the pharmaceutical production environment, where the prevention of foreign body product contamination is an essential process. Bristles from brushes have always been a high contamination risk – our brushes are designed specifically to combat this risk. The practical short stainless steel handles are themselves metal detectable, as well as the highly secured FDA approved PBT bristles.

The PBT bristles feature a food safe ferrous based additive that is designed to trigger a rejection by a properly calibrated metal detection system.

FDA Approval: The PBT filaments used in our brushes are compliant with FDA regulation 21CFR 1077.1660

“Polytetramethylene Terephthalate”, with the scope of application being “Filaments used for repeated use in contact with food”. Brush handles are manufactured using food grade stainless steel.

Metal Detectability:

The bristles of our brushes are embedded with food safe ferrous content, giving them para-magnetic properties and making them detectable by correctly calibrated metal detection systems. Successful bristle detection is dependent on:

Detector Calibration, Product Type (E.g. Wet, Dry, Frozen, Liquid), Aperture Dimensions, Contaminant Orientation

For this reason, PTK-GB Ltd recommends that this product be thoroughly tested on your metal detection systems by a trained and certified professional. It may be the case that your equipment needs to be recalibrated in order to reliably detect bristles. Such a professional should be available by contacting the manufacturer of your metal detection system.
